Portugal launches European app "Travel to Europe” to make border control easier.


The Travel to Europe mobile app, which is already available for download, will allow third-country citizens to enter travel information in advance, before arriving at border control, which will simplify the entry procedure.

The app is developed as part of the European Union Entry/Exit System, which aims to speed up the border control process and make it modern and efficient for travelers from third countries.

Using the Travel to Europe app, travelers can enter their personal data and travel information in advance before arriving at the border, which allows them to process some of the necessary information in advance and speed up border control. In the future, pre-registration can be used at automated passport control kiosks, if they are available at the border crossing point.

At the first stage, the app will be available at Lisbon Airport, and in the coming weeks it will be extended to other airports.

Using the app, travelers can:



  • Enter your personal data and trip information in advance.
  • Answer a short survey about the conditions of entry to the territory of Europe.
  • Perform this procedure 72 hours before the trip (if desired), thereby reducing the time required to pass through border control.

How to use the app:


  1. Download the app “Travel to Europe” from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Fill in your travel details (specify the country of departure, border crossing point, and estimated time of arrival).


  3. Enter your personal data.

  4. Answer questions about your travel plans.

  5. Generate a QR code at the end of the procedure.

  6. Scan the QR code when there are self-service kiosks at the border control on arrival in Portugal.


Although the use of the app is voluntary and does not replace standard border control procedures, it allows you to process some of the information in advance, making the process of entering Europe easier and more efficient for both travelers and border guards.

The app “Travel to Europe” is available for download on major mobile platforms, including the App Store and Google Play.
